The
village of Mowsley comes as a pleasant surprise with lots of lovely
cottages and is worthy of a brief stroll in exploration. You could use
this as your opportunity to work up an appetite for some refreshment at
The Staff of Life public house.
It
comes as no surprise to learn that the well proportioned building was
once a privately-owned Edwardian house until the local pub was
relocated. Set back from the road there is a small patio area at the
front and there is further outdoor seating at the back too.
Venturing
inside you will find a cosy yet elegant bar with a superb country
dining area at the back which overlooks the rear patio garden. The bar
retains some traditional touches, with a flagstone floor and high backed
settles and yet if you look up you will see not only a beautiful wood
panelled ceiling but also the wine cellar!
Here you can enjoy some
superb food from a delicious daytime and evening menu with addition to
our daily changing blackboard menus, available lunch time and
evening. All of which are
home-made by our superb culinary team
The more extensive evening menu makes the most of seasonal produce. To enjoy with your meal there is a good wine list
with atleast 15 different varieties available by the glass including
champagne and cava. There are also four real ales on tap and other
popular beers and lagers too.
We cater for walking parties,
birthdays and many other events. Please call us for further
information...
Spence,
Linda and our chefs
and all the floor staff look forward to seeing you time and time again.
